Linda Eleanor Burgess of Huntington

Linda Eleanor Burgess, 69, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away at home on Monday, January 3, 2011 following an extended illness. She was born February 10, 1941 in Point Pleasant, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clarence “Rome” and Alma Freeman. Two sons, Robert Lee Sturgeon and Nathan Scott Warnecky also preceded her in death. Linda was a homemaker and loved fishing, and hunting. She also enjoyed traveling. She leaves behind her husband, Roy E. Burgess; five daughters, Debbie Castle and husband Ray Jr. of Cole Grove, Ohio, Cindy Rohrig of Gadsden, Ala., Mary Reike and husband Tony of Burnsville, Minn., Becky Lemaster, and Tammy Turley, both of Huntington; two sons, Richard Warnecky of Licking County, Ohio, and Jimmy Sturgeon of Rome, Ga.; 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way. Also surviving are two sisters, Lorena Matheny of Concorde, N.C., and Lenora Waggoner of Sandy Hill, W.Va.; one brother Melvin Freeman of Racine, W.Va.; and special friends, Gary and Bonnie Workman, and Al Trent, all of Huntington.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Huntington for their support and love during her final days. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with the funeral beginning at 8 p.m.
