Elaine Mobley Butler of Louisa, Ky
Elaine Mobley Butler departed this world January 8, 2011 after a brief illness and is resting in the arms of Jesus. Elaine was born May 19, 1924 in Elliott County. She was the daughter of the late Will and Bonnie Rose Mobley and was preceded in death by Carson Lewis, Raymond Butler and two sons Jim and Eddie. Elaine retired in 1990 after forty-seven years of dedication to the children and teachers of the Elliott and Lawrence County School Systems. She continued her commitment to education as a highly esteemed member of the Lawrence County Retired Teachers’ Organization. She is survived by her loving family including a brother, Kelly “Buck” Mobley, (Joyce), sister Lucy Mobley Stevens all of Sandy Hook, daughters-in-law Kim Butler Cordle of Louisa and mary Lois Butler of Dry Ridge, Ky, three granddaughters; Lexie Centers (Jeff) of Hazard, Ashley See (Matthew) and Allison Blaine Butler, both of Louisa, four great grandchildren; Jaron Butler, Pheobe Elaine, Karlie Reece and Caroline Elizabeth and several nieces and nephews. She leaves behind not only her precious family but a host of loving friends. Elaine was an exeptionally giving individual and will be sadly missed by many people. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the First United Church at 11 a.m. Burial followd in Green Lawn Cemetery, Louisa. Pallbearers were Matthew See, Ronald Cordle, Shannon Preece, Blake Preece, Jeffrey Centers, Michael Armstrong, and Laban Young. Donations can be made to the First United Methodist church.
