Charles Ance Perry of Huntington
Charles Ance Perry, 63, of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV, by Pastor Chuck Lawrence and Brother Dolphus Perry. Burial will follow at the S. D. Copley Cemetery at Dunlow, WV. He was born August 7, 1947 in Wayne County, a son of the late Ance and Ruth Hollandsworth Perry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post 93 in Kenova, WV. Charles was a retired Huntington Police Department officer where he worked on the narcotics task force. He was a member of Gold Star Lodge 65, Fraternal Order of Police. He was a member of Christ Temple Church in Huntington and was also a member of Red Jacket Lodge # 119, AF & AM, and was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, Randell Scott Perry, a sister Violet Canterbury, and brothers James “Jimbo” Perry, David Perry and John Perry. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sharon Kay Grobe Perry; a daughter, Crystal Kay Del Guidice and husband, Brandon of Charleston, WV; two sons, Shane Allen Perry and wife, Amber, and Cory Allen Perry, all of Huntington, WV; two sisters, Polly Blackburn and husband, Richard of Lexington, KY, and Alverda Perry of Lenore, WV; a brother-in-law, James Canterbury of Lenore, WV; four grandchildren, Jasmine Miller, Ally Poe, Olivia Grace Perry, and Mila James Del Guidice; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Scott Brannen, Danny Ferguson, Bruce Sprouse, Doug Woods, Tom Crossan, Jim Hagley, Darrell Black and Kim Wolfe. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Morris Funeral Home.
