Gene Webster Kessinger of Genoa
Gene Webster Kessinger, 74 of Genoa, WV, formerly of San Jacinto, CA died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Hospice House of Huntington after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 27, 1938 in Beckley, WV a son of Elwood and Myrtle Riggs Kessinger. Gene was a retired truck driver and was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His wife and mother of his six chidren, Pearl Patricia Nailard Kessinger also preceded him in death. Survivors include four daughters Janine Kessinger Ritchie of Florida, Laura Kessinger Flores and husband, Wellinton of Santa Rosa, Florida, Fawn Kessinger Bishop and husband, Watson of Palmdale, CA, Patricia Gale Kessinger Bartram and Robert “Bob” Golden Bartram of Genoa, WV; two sons, Gene Webster Kessinger, Jr. of San Jacinto, CA, Jeffrey Jerome Kessinger and wife, Teree of El Reno, OK; two sisters, Dorothy “Dottie” Kessinger McElwee and Ted Brooks, Treva Kessinger Antoniadas and husband, Jim of San Jacinto, CA; a brother, Charles “Lenny” Kessinger and wife, Elsie Louise Kessinger of Suisun City, CA; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends. A special thanks to Donna Ball and Carol Riggs Wallace for helping care for him while he was ill and Sister Monica Shubbert for volunteering through Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington for their commitment and compassion to the many patients and their families.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Crabtree Cemetery on Joels Branch in Genoa, WV. Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
