Howard Robertson of Kiahsville
Howard Robertson, 82, of Kiahsville, WV, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the Pres Friley Cemetery at Kiahsville. He was born January 23, 1930 at Fort Gay, WV, a son of the late William and Idella Webb Robertson. Howard was a retired machinist for General Motors and was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was known for his boxing talents. He was also a former pastor of the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church. He loved woodworking, hunting, and listening to country and gospel music. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Amy Williamson, Pansy Wiley and Mabel Robertson, and his brothers, Homer, Kenneth, Eathel, Earl, and brothers very special to him, Theron and Cullie Robertson. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nora Emma “Tunie” Watts Robertson, who was also his childhood friend and sweetheart; a daughter, Patricia Ann Fuller (Charles) of Rio Grande, OH; three sons, James Howard Robertson (Marie-deceased), Robert Dale Robertson (Vangie) and Curtis Ray Robertson (Lisa), all of Kiahsville, WV; a sister, Dorothy Dean (Burl) of Ranger, WV; 8 grandchildren, Leanette Grimm (Chris), Amanda Robertson, Amelia Robertson, Jesse Stacy(Melissa), Jamie Robertson (Amanda), Christopher Robertson, Derick (Betina) Robertson, and Aaron Robertson; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church at Kiahsville, WV. Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
