Sponcil Maynard of Dunlow
Sponcil Maynard, 64, of Dunlow, WV, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV, by Brother Dolphus Perry, Elder James Lambert, Jr. and Elder Wornie Meeks. Burial will follow at the Sol Perry Cemetery at Dunlow, WV. He was born November 14, 1946 at Logan, WV, a son of the late James Hughes and Polly Fry Maynard. Sponcil was retired from Pen Coal and was a security guard. He was a member of Mt. Sinia Church at Dunlow. He served with the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam Era. Two sisters, Emily Peyton and Hulda Burlingham, and two brothers, John Maynard and Owen Maynard, also preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Audrey Nelson Maynard; three daughters, Kimberly Muncy and husband, Jimmy of Dunlow, WV, Timberly Presley and husband, Michael, and Kathy Jeanette Johnson and husband, Joseph, all of Fort Gay, WV; a son, Clinton Maynard and wife, Angie of Warfield, KY; three sisters, Lucille Queen and husband, Jim of Cincinnati, OH, Wilma Jean Maynard and Mary Fay Maynard, both of Dunlow, WV; a brother, Clifford Maynard of Dunlow, WV; and eight grandchildren.
