Elder Byron Keith Johnson of Lavalette

Elder Byron Keith Johnson, 82, of Lavalette, W.Va. stepped out to his glory into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, March 22, 2012. He was born July 22, 1929 a son of the late Ezra Elbert and Adah Gilkison Johnson. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Blaine Johnson as well as a sister, Bonnie Hall and two brothers, Eldon and Howard Johnson. Elder Keith Johnson was a pastor of Mt. Calvary Regular Baptist Church and is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Johnson. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Ross and her husband, Howard, of Fairbank, Ak., and Karen Alexander and her husband, Phil, of Barboursville, W.Va.; two sons, Brian Johnson and his wife, Pam, of Huntington, W.Va., Byron Johnson II and his wife, Sandra, of South Point, Oh.; two sisters, Joyce Pauley, and her husband, Bill, of Lavalette, and Janet Ferguson and her husband, Perry, of West Union, W.Va.; one brother, Ivan Johnson and his wife, Dovetta, of Lavalette; ten grandchildren, Julie Lowe and her husband, John, Jamie Wheeler and her husband, Ryan, Matthew Johnson and his wife, Mary, Jonathan Ross, Michael Ross, Amy Ross, Will Alexander and his wife, April, Wade Alexander, Wes Alexander and Nicole Johnson; and eleven great grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Huntington for their loving care, especially Ed and Dennis.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. A burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday after 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
