Edith Estelle Jenkins Legg of Huntington
Edith Estelle Jenkins Legg, 86 of Huntington, W.Va, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Heritage Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Eddie Gandy and Dallas Moore; burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. Edith was born February 4, 1927 in Oak Hill, WV a daughter of the late Edward Lafayette and Ida Mae Thompson Jenkins. She was a retired employee of Buffalo Elementary School in the Wayne County School System, and a member of 1st Church of the Nazarene, Huntington. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Legg; two brothers, Edward Jenkins and Lawrence Jenkins; four sisters, Helen Clemons, Naomi Pauley, Zina Hamlin and Dorothy Berry. Survivors include, three daughters their spouses, Janet (Jim) Conrad of Parsons, TN; Joyce (Joe) Hail of Little Rock, Arkansas, Nancy (Steve) Brumfield of Prichard, WV. Six grandchildren survive her as well: Bobby (Cheryl) Conrad, Amy (Dennis) McKenzie, Melanie Hail, Charles Hail, Steve (Kelly) Brumfield, Tim (Jennifer) Brumfield and eight grand-grandchildren, in addition, one brother, Ezra(Joyce) Jenkins and one sister, Ruth DeWiggins , both of Huntington and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from Noon until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff of the Homestead unit at Heritage Center for the excellent and compassionate care they gave our mother.
