Marvin Eugene Salyers of Louisa

Marvin Eugene Salyers, age 76, of Louisa died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at home in Louisa. Marvin was born April 16, 1936 in Louisa, KY. He is the son of the late Chester and the late Hazel (Carter) Salyers. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Louisville and Louisa. He was a retired truck driver, a Kentucky Colonel, and attended the Bear Creek United Methodist Church and also Myrtle Chapel Church. He is survived by one daughter: Kay Hammonds of Louisa, KY and one son: Derek Salyers of Louisa, KY; Brother of Truman (Gail) Salyers and Melvin (Peggy) Salyers; He also has five grandchildren, , Melissa; Christina; Justin Dwain; Giren Eugene; Eric Gene; Great Grandchildren Addison; Stryker; and Skyla; Special Friend In Christ, Gladys Wright; A Special Daughter From The Lord, Priscilla Samples.Preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Salyers, two sons Eric Salyers, and Dwain Salyers, a brother, Emory Kay Salyers. The funeral was held 1:00 pm on Friday, March 8 at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Dave Henderson, Bro. Noah Wilks, and Bro. Gordan Crisp officiating. Burial was in Salyers Cemetery, Louisa, KY Calling hours were Thursday, March 7 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home Louisa, KY.
