James Carmie Adkins of Huntington
Mr. James Carmie Adkins, 79, of Huntington, W.Va., formerly of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. He was born April 5, 1932 in Logan, W.Va., a son of the late Brack Adkins and Susie Pack Adkins. His beloved wife, Marie Adkins also preceded him in death, along with step-mother, Maggie Adkins, brothers John and Hansford K. Adkins, and sisters Mary Crombie and infant Athalee Adkins. James was a retired floor installer and attended Lick Creek Baptist Church.He leaves behind three daughters, Lynn Mogle and husband Clayton of Des Moines, Iowa, Karen Adkins of Wayne, and Leslie Rodes and husband Jim of Huntington; four grandchildren, Dustin Mogle and Joshua Mogle, both of Des Moines, David Rodes and Christina Rodes, both of Huntington; and three great grandchildren, Payton Mogle, Connor Mogle, and Abbie Mogle, all of Des Moines.Also surviving is one brother, Paul Adkins and his wife Mae and their family of Michigan; one sister, Pearl Colegreco and her family of Cliffside Park, N.J.; and lifelong friends Marie and Sid Dingess of Tom’s River, N.J. Per his request, private graveside services were conducted Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Spurlock Cemetery, Wayne. Johnson Tiller Funeral Home is honored to serve the Adkins family.
