Earl G. "Pug" Ross of Wayne

Earl G. “Pug” Ross, 91, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2011. He was born January 15, 1920 at Wayne, a son of the late Cumberland Cleveland Ross and Mary Ann Wooten Ross. Six brothers, Wetzel, Denny, Alva, Jim, Allen and Emmitt, also preceded him in death, along with three sister, Lena Ramey, Alice Stiltner, and Minerva Porter. Earl retired from the WV State Road, Wayne Department with 16 years of service. He was also a member of the Wolf Pen Church of Christ. He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Cuba Queen Ross; four daughters, Diane Keesee and husband Allen of Mobile, Ala., Delana Ball and husband Randall of Kenova, W.Va., Brenda Merritt, also of Kenova, and Sarah Wyke and husband Steve of Mobile; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family too numerous to mention. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
