Darlene Brumfield Bias of Kenova

Darlene Brumfield Bias, 73 of Kenova, loving wife and companion of 54 years to Don W. Bias went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Darlene was born February 19, 1940 in Mingo County, WV a daughter of the late Wade H. and Frances Roberts Brumfield. She retired after 27 years of service from the Wayne County School System working at Ceredo Elementary. She was a member of the Kenova Church of God where she was the former president of the Ladies Auxiliary, a Sunday school teacher and a choir member. In recent years Darlene had been attending the Jefferson Avenue Church of God where she was active in many activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include her beloved and faithful husband, Don W. Bias; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy Don and Georgeann Bias, all of Kenova and Robert Mark and Julia Bias of Katy, TX; six grandchildren, Jody (Stacey) Shy, Ashley (J.B.) Blankenship all of Huntington, WV, Amanda (Jason) Cox of Fulsher, TX, Melissa, Cameron and Jonathan Bias all of Katy, TX; nine great grandchildren, Mackenzie Hall, Chaz Bias, Addison Cox, Samuel, Michael and Landon Shy, Finley, Kennedy and Chandler Blankenship; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Louise Starr of Kenova, WV, Janet and Dallas Maynard of Ceredo, WV; one sister-in-law, Mabel Scott of Marion, OH; a very special great nephew, John David Callicoat; a special friend, Rosella Shoemaker; many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends; and her loyal boy, Dusty. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Hospice. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Kenova Church of God with Pastor Greg Tomlinson, Pastor Paul Ray Farley and Pastor Rabun Haddock officiating.
