Connie Sue Maynard of Dunlow

Connie Sue Maynard, 55, of Dunlow, formerly of Lovely, Ky. went to heaven to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 2, 2013. She was born July 14, 1957 in Martin County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James and Dorothy McCoy Maynard. Two brothers, John Maynard, and David Maynard, and three sisters, Kathleen Maynard Mills, Joyce Maynard Newsome, and Bonnie Maynard Salmons, also preceded her in death. Connie was married to Troy F. Maynard and they resided at Cabwaylingo National State Forest, where she spent her days being a devoted, gentle, kind, caring, understanding, and loving, housewife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was always slow to take and quick to give. Survivors include one brother, James Maynard of Ohio; three sisters. Francis Maynard Moore, Loucile Maynard Dials, and Betty Maynard all of Lovely, Ky.; four children, Cynthia C. Jude Watts, and her husband Michael Shayne, of Wayne, W.Va., Melissa D. Jude, of South Charleston, W.Va., Rodney B. Jude, and his wife Cassie, of Wayne, and Christopher L. Hallam, of South Charleston; four grandchildren, Joshua David Jude, Wendell Taylor Johnson, Arabella Jude, and Allyssa Jude; and many extended family members.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, with Brother Harold Pelfrey officiating. Per her request her ashes will be scattered at the feet of her mother and father’s grave located at the family cemetery at Blacklog, Ky. at a later date, so she can, in her own words, “Fly away to FREEDOM.” Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. We love you, Mommy Jude. You will forever live in the hearts of the many people whose lives you touched and undoubtedly everyone whom you’ve encountered.
