Bobbie Napier of Ashland, Ohio

Bobbie Napier, 71 of Ashland, Ohio, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 in his home surrounded by his loving wife and children after a six year courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 25, 1940 in Wayne, W. Va. to the late Boyd and Amanda (McClellan) Napier. He had been a resident of Ashland since 1962 and retired from Ashland City Schools after 30 years. He had previously work at Tappan Stove Company for 15 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School teacher, Deacon, Usher and Choir member. On June 6, 1959, he married Bonnie Casteele, his beloved wife of 51 years who survives. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Leisa and Homyar Karanjia of Moorestown, NJ., two sons and daughters-in-law Kevin and Renee Napier of Springfield, VA. and Keith and Korri Napier of Topeka, KS., seven grandchildren Allison and Alexander Karanjia, Hope and Daniel Napier and Luke, Drake and Kassidy Napier. He is also survived by sisters Bessie McKee of Stuart, FL., Maxine Young of Lakeland, FL., and Haney Hembree of Wayne, W. VA., brothers William Napier of Orville, OH and J. P. Napier of Florida. He was preceded by his parents and brothers Bruce Napier, Bernie Napier and Thurman Napier. Services will be held Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 1233 St. Rt. 42, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Keith Napier and Pastor Butch White officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 6 to 8pm at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
