Emma Jean Black of Huntington
Emma Jean Black, 77 of Huntington, born January 10, 1935 and died May 21, 2012 was the daughter of the late Mary Jane Poole Dean and Dock Dean of Kenova. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Gene Black; four sisters, Carrie Sisler, Carol Kelley, Billie Dove Skaggs, and Stella Bocook; seven brothers, Charles Dean, Paul “Pat” Dean, Jason Dean, James Dean, Clarence Dean, Dock Dean, Jr., and Bill Dean; and triplet grandsons, Jason, Jacob and Josh Black. Emma Jean was a devoted wife and mother always taking care of her family. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Randy Davis of Huntington, WV and Plura Jane “Sis” and Tim McClanahan of Catlettsburg, KY; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Richard and Lisa Black of Kenova, WV and Robert Michael and Kathy Black of Huntington, WV; her sister, Juanita Brown of Ceredo, WV; a brother-in-law, Gary Black of Huntington, WV; her grandchildren, the sunshine of her life, Dr. Billy and Kelly Rutherford, Ricky Black, Randy and Erin Black, Charles Ryan Davis, Zachary Michael Black and Sarah Elizabeth Black all of Huntington, WV; her precious great grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart, Liam Jack Rutherford, Michael Gene Black and Julia Belle Rutherford; a special loving sister-in-law, Sandy Lincoln of Huntington, WV and numerous nieces, nephews and friends; her special loving lifelong friends, Paul and Charlotte Roach of Huntington, WV and Les and Bonnie Kelly of St. Mary’s, WV. Emma Jean attended Trinity Chapel Church in Lavalette, WV and loved her Lord. In addition to being a homemaker she helped her husband and retired from Gene’s Automotive Service. The family sends a special thank you to her doctor and friend, Dr. C. Dewayne Tackett for his loving kindness to our family as well as his professional care and to the staff at HIMG. The family would also like to say a special thank you to the staff of St. Mary’s Medical Center for their kindness, support and care. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Spirit of Faith Church, 1800 Sycamore St. in Kenova, WV. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. at the church with Rev. Sam Peters officiating and Rev. Greg Wells assisting. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Pallbearers will be Jeff Dean, Ricky Black, Randy Black, Zack Black, Charlie Davis and Gary Black.
