Johnie Brown of Louisa

Johnie Brown, 82, of Louisa, Ky., passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh, NC. He was born December 19, 1929, in Pike Co, Ky., a son of the late Wilburn and Siltania (Johnson) Brown of Pike County Kentucky. Prior to retirement, he was maintenance supervisor at Anheuser Busch in Columbus, Ohio. He was a faithful and active member of the Catalpa Freewill Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and a loyal friend who will be missed by many. Johnie touched the lives of so many people. He always had a joke to tell and was the life of the party. He never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Opal Marie Brown, three sisters, Rosie Cole and Vassie Flannery; two brothers; Alvin Brown and Ballard Brown; two sons-in-law, William Eugene Reed and William Timothy Cremeans. Survivors include three daughters; Shani Rae Brown (with whom he resided) Raleigh, North Carolina; Glenna Marie Reed of Marysville, Ohio, Marilyn Kaye Cremeans of Ceredo Kenova, West Virgina; one son, Michael Lee (Roslyn) Moore of Hampton, Va.; one brother Russell (Rachel) Brown of Virgie, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Tina Marie Reed, Roseanne E. Reed, John Adkins, Ashley Adkins, Andre Boyce and Darin Moore; 12 great-grandchildren, Justic Ethan Smith, Rylee Rae Adkins, Nicholas Blake Smith,(with whom he resided) Johnathan Adkins, Katelyn Adkins, Peyton Schaner, Rosemarie Schaner, Baylee Artrip, Kaylee Jolynn Artrip, Brody Lee Smith, Dylan Patrick Boyce and William Eugene Reed-Bodey. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Catalpa Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Cox and Brother Paul Cox officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Catalpa Freewill Baptist Church. Assisting the family with arrangements is Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky. Pallbearers are Ray Brown, Leonard Brown. Chris Brown, Jamie Brown, Randal Brown, Roger Kinney, Scott Mills and Gerald Mills.
