Gary Lee Black of Huntington
Gary Lee Black, 71, of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2013. He was born November 9, 1941 in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Harvey and Plura Skaggs Black. One sister, Deloris Black-Brammer also preceded him in death along with four brothers, Harvie Black Jr., Gene Black, Harold Black, and Darrell Black. Gary had a special love of gospel music and sang in several quartets including the Royal Messengers Quartet, and he attended Trinity Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Gary Black Jr. and his wife Brenda, and William “Billy” Black and his fiancé Robin Neal; one daughter, Denise Kilgore and her husband Ron; six grandchildren, Emily Williams, Marissa Black, Katie Black, Willa Kilgore, John Garrido, and Shawn Garrido; and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation for taking such exceptional care of our Dad. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Willie May officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
