Rodney Glen “Crip” McNeely (Sr.).of Kiahsville, WV, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June19, 2011 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV, by Elder Rex Maynard. Burial will follow at the Williamson Cemetery at Wilsondale, WV. He was born June 20, 1924 at Logan, WV, a son of the late Floyd E. and Ruth Whitman McNeely. He was a retired coal miner for Hobet Coal Company and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Three sisters, Anise Madge Finley, Lavedah Faye Fleming, and Elizabeth Ardell Conley, and two brothers, Maxwell and Leo McNeely, also preceded him in death. Survivors include three sons, James Eric “Jim” McNeely (Vera) of Kiahsville, WV, with whom he made his home, Larry Stephen McNeely of Huntington, WV, and Rodney Glen McNeely, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX; three daughters, Glenna Mae Estep (Steve) of Oklahoma, Debrah Leigh Taylor (David) of Huntington, WV, and Bernice Bailey (Tommy) of Logan, WV; two sisters, Helen Mullins (Paul) of Lebanon, KY and Janise Staggs of Oklahoma; three brothers, Franklin “Butch” McNeely (Ova) of Logan, WV, James D. “Jim” McNeely (Mary) of Columbia, TN and Jerry McNeely (Doris) of Charleston, WV; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Elijah Williamson and Jesse Williamson. Pallbearers will be James D. McNeely, Nathaniel Williamson, Lige Williamson, Jr., Darin McNeely, Darrell Crislip, and Jeff McClain. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Morris Funeral Home.
