Charles Albert Porter of East Lynn
CHARLES ALBERT PORTER, 60, of East Lynn, W.Va., passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born December 10, 1950, a son of the late Albert and Norma Porter. His wife Priscilla Mosher also preceded him in death along with one brother, Ricky L. Porter. Charles was a retired factory worker of Detroit, Mich., and a disabled U.S. Army Veteran. He is the father of Melissa Stanley and her husband Jimmy, and Leanna Porter; Pa-Paw to Jessica, Emilee, and Olivia, all of East Lynn; brother of Gary R. Porter and his wife Rosie of East Lynn, Roscoe Porter and wife Becky of Pickney, Mich., Delphine Parsons and husband Wayne of Washington, W.Va., Connie Adkins and husband Carroll of East Lynn, and Bonnie Mathis and husband Lonnie of Pickney, Mich.; uncle to many nieces and nephews; and loved by all. Charles was a wonderful man, father, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many. Always available to philosophize and speak of matters of the heart, he was insightful and wise beyond his years. Charles was at his best when spending time cooking and taking care of his family. He will be forever missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Otis Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
