Betty Jo Williamson Maynard of Huntington
Betty Jo Williamson Maynard, 72, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday June 11, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center due to a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Brother Sam Frye. Burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens. She was born March 23, 1940 in Ranger, WV, a daughter of the late Rev. Ivory and Laura Maynard Williamson. Betty was self-employed and previously worked at Corbin LTD. Three sisters, Wavie Wiley, Ava Kirk and Theba Drusilla Elder also preceded her in death, along with four brothers, Jason, Lester, Wiley and Sanford Williamson; a sister-in-law, Millie Williamson; her father and mother-in-law, Reuben and Victoria Maynard; a grandson, Darryl Joe Maynard, II, and a special friend Leonard Harold Adkins. Survivors include her ex-husband, Bud Maynard of Lavalette, WV; a son Darryl Joe (Wanda) Maynard of Wayne, WV, three daughters, Edna Pauley of Wayne, WV, Vickie Vera and Laura Sutphin both of Huntington, WV; two sisters, Aquila (Jason) Adkins of Wayne, WV, Georgia (Greg) Wilson of Kenova, WV; five brothers, John (Norma) Williamson of Lavalette, WV, Robert (Sue) Williamson of Huntington, WV, Ivory (Carol) Williamson of Wayne, WV, Arthur (Kathy) Williamson of Prichard, WV, Orval (Linda) Williamson of Prichard, WV; seven grandchildren, Leslie Shawn, Justin Shane Vera, and very special granddaughter Tequila Renee Sutphin of Huntington (all of whom she raised as her own) Renee Pauley, Linda Blower and Betty Stroud all of Wayne, WV and Jessica Blankenship of Huntington, WV; five great grandchildren, Brittany and Bailey Pauley, Bryan Blower, Telissa Stroud all of Wayne, WV and Kasey Blankenship of Huntington, WV. Pallbearers will be Leslie Shawn and Justin Shane Vera, Bailey Pauley, Ivory, Arthur, Orville Williamson, Jeff Elder and Andrew Pruitt. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm Saturday at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, WV. There will be a reception following the funeral service on Sunday at Salem United Baptist Church, Rt. 37, Wayne, WV.
