William Spry of Fort Gay

William Spry, 76, of Fort Gay, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Roger Maynard. Burial will follow at Queens Ridge Cemetery, Dunlow. He was born February 1, 1937 in Wayne, a son of the late Fletcher and Goldie Marie Ramey Spry. Bill was a retired coal miner and member of the Echo United Baptist Church. A sister, Cynthia Blankenship also preceded him in death, along with a brother, Arlie Spry. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Edith May McIntire Spry; a daughter, Melissa Blankenship and husband, Terry of Proctorville, OH; two sons, Tracy Spry of Kenova, WV, William K. Spry and wife, Pamela of Huntington; five sisters, Ina Watts and husband, Otis of Lumberport, WV, Nancy Moon and husband, Roy of Fort Gay, Clista Radcliff and husband, Jim of Clarksburg, WV, Mary Wright and husband, Joe of Waynesboro, GA, Yvonne McQuaid and husband, Doug of Lumberport, WV, Glenda Spry of Lumberport, WV; two brothers, Cleve Spry and wife, Wilma of Valley Grove, WV, Richard Spry of Lumberport, WV; six grandchildren, Nickey and Goldie Spry, Chelsea and Brianna Blankenship, Mae and J.R. Spry. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 pm Monday at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, WV.
