Willa Fay Burns of Huntington
Willa Fay Burns, 78, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born September 26, 1933 in Lincoln County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Gracie and Taylor Smith. Her daughter, Teresa Burns also preceded her in death. Willa was a homemaker and a member of the Spring Valley Church of Christ.
She leaves behind her husband, Oscar Burns; one daughter Vickey Burns Engel of St. Louis, Mo.: four grandchildren, Amber Overby Zimmerman of Ashland, Ky., Thomas Edward Engel and his wife Maggie, Stephanie Engel Mendenhall and her husband Roger, and Christin Engel Stahlmann, all of Mo.; five great grandchildren, Christopher Shane Overby of Ashland, Sam Kuper, Lexy Kuper, Gracie Mendenhall, and Mia Stahlmann, all of Mo.; and one great-great grandson Jaxson Shoup Overby of Ashland.
Also surviving is two sisters, Hester McSweeney and her husband Floyd of Lavalette, W.Va., and Jean Adkins and her husband Fred of East Lynn, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the Spring Valley Church of Christ with Pastors Bob Hayes and David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery.
