Juanita Ross Davis of Huntington
Juanita Ross Davis, 83, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Spring Valley Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member, by Rev. Bonnie Boyce. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery, Wayne, WV. She was born April 30, 1930 on Little Lynn Creek in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Matthew and Goldie Pyles Ross. Juanita was a retired clerk for the Veterans Administration Regional Office in Huntington.
Her husband of 61 years, Cecil Ernest Davis; a granddaughter, Amber Chambers Townson; sisters Marjorie Elliott and Mary May Ross, brothers, Bill Ross and Kent Ross; half-sisters, Edith Wellman, Pearl Shively, and Ines “Jo” Cross, and half-brothers, Jack Ross and Clarence Ross, also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Michael Davis and Jeffrey Davis (Tonya), all of Huntington; a granddaughter, Kristin Dygert (Josh) of Huntington; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Newman, Jason “Bubby” Townson, Jr., and Collin Dygert; four brothers, Arnold Ross, Bob Ross (Maxine), and Claude Ross (Jean), all of Columbus, OH, and David Ross (Lois) of Wayne, WV; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
