Ruth Mourning Lapole of Kenova
Ruth Mourning Lapole, 91, of Kenova, WV. passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in Cabell-Huntington Hospital. She was born November 26, 1921 in Catlettsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late William and Cynthia Booth Combs. Ruth was a member for more than 50 years of the First Independent Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Missionary Circle and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband Earl Andrew Mourning and her second husband Lindsey Lapole; two sons Michael Rex Mourning and Earl Andrew Mourning, Jr. and two granddaughters Sherry and Christine. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law Carolyn and Jim Powell of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Linda Perry of Kenova; nine grandchildren Chauncey, Brian, Jimmy, Jamie, Lori, Suzanne, Mike, Jr., Kathy and Michelle; 19 great-grandchildren and a special friend Barbara Lloyd. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful people at Gentiva Home Health for taking such precious care of Ruth. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Rollins Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Byard, officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park.
