Richard K. Miller Jr., of Prichard
Richard k. Miller jr., 45, of Prichard, passed away July 3, 2013, after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born October 23, 1967. Rich was a teacher and coach at Wayne Middle School where he loved his co-workers and the children he taught and coached. He was the son of Betty J. Miller of Huntington, W.Va., and the late Richard K. Miller. Rich is survived by his wife Kimberly Scott Miller of Prichard, and three daughters, Christana Miller, Aimee Miller Jackson and husband Kevin, all of Huntington, W.Va., and Randi Miller of Prichard; one son, Richard “Scotty” Miller, also of Prichard; one sister, Linda Miller-McLaughlin and husband Jeff of Hillsboro, Ohio, and one brother, John Lee Miller of Huntington, W.Va.; one grandson, Landon Jackson of Huntington, W.Va. Rich was a faithful member of the Antioch Old Regular Baptist Church in Wayne, W.Va., after he became prepared for eternal life in May of 1998. Richard was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Dallas Bowen; infant daughter Peyton Miller; paternal grandparents John and Wynima Miller and maternal grandparents Brad and Mauda Mathis of Huntington, W.Va. He leaves behind many loving family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, Wayne, W.Va., with Elder Art Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mathis Cemetery. Friends called after 6 pm Friday at the funeral home.
