Marjorie "Mammy" "Jack" Perdue of Kenova
Marjorie “Mammy” “Jack” Perdue, 103 of Kenova, West Virginia completed her journey on earth and entered Heaven surrounded by her family who loved her so very much, on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was the widow of O.O. Perdue, and a homemaker. Mammy was born September 27, 1908 in Wayne County, WV the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Frances Stephens Crockett. A celebration of her life was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 at Locust Grove Baptist Church, of which she was a member, by Pastor Randall Robertson. Burial followed in the Maple Hill section of Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter and son-in-law Wilma Lee and William J. Vickers as well as a grandson, David Mark Brammer. Survivors include two daughters and spouses, Wanda L. and Bill Brammer, Oddine O. and Jim Childers; the following grandchildren: Rob (Elizabeth) Vickers, Penny (Mike) Adkins, Jenny (Pac) Smith, Richard Brammer, Marjorie (Mikal) Rains, Jim (Rhonda) Childers, Tim (Cynthia) Childers and Velvet Kelly; great-grandchildren: Robbie(Jean)Vickers, Joey (Samantha) Vickers, Corey (Brittany) Adkins, Tyler Adkins, Dustin (Jamie) Smith, Jacob Smith, Mikal Rains, Chad Hay, Zack (Jessica) Childers, Paige Childers, Chelsey (Chad) Hall, Vense Kelly, and Sarah Kelly, as well as four great great- grandchildren: Kaylee Belle Adkins, Carson Childers, Aden Childers and Brycen Childers. The family would also like to acknowledge these close family friends in Mammy’s Life: Erica and David Melvin and their children: Issac, Samantha and Mitchell, Rosemary and Al Spaulding, Irene Joy, Rose Bias, Peggy Cheatham, Tea and Ed Bradshaw, Janna Blanchard , Carol Plymale, Karen Knowles, Brenda Litteral and her hospice caregivers, Sandy, Missy and Patty. A special thanks to the Hospice House for excellent care. Friends called from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Locust Grove Baptist Church in the fellowship hall, located at 2886 Rt. 75 Huntington, WV. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
