Sydney Harrison Hamilton of Fort Gay

Sydney Harrison Hamilton, 69, of Ft. Gay, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept, 21, 2012 surrounded by his family at Emogene Dolin Hospice House. He was the son of the late Thomas and Phyllis Maynard Hamilton of Ft. Gay, W.Va.. He was a retired welder for the W.Va. Dept. of Highways. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Doris Sue Harvey Hamilton of Ft. Gay, W.Va., his five children; Lisa Lou Nelson, Ft. Gay, W.Va., William and Kim Hamilton of Cardington, Ohio, James and Melissa Hamilton of Ft. Gay, W.Va., Brenda and Coy Robertson of Ft. Gay, W.Va., and Karen and Gary Ferguson, of Linwood, N.C., two sisters; Regina Ball of Rittman, Ohio and Lorana Gainok of Norwalk, Ohio, 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at Rush Branch Church on Mill Creek Rd., Ft. Gay, W.Va. with Rev. Frank Copley and Rev. Tommy Kitts officiating. Burial will follow at the Hamilton Cemetery, Mill Creek Rd., Ft. Gay, W.Va. under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky. Visitation was 5 - 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at Rush Branch Church. Any donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the burial fund. A very special ‘thank you’ to the Hospice workers that took so special care of our dad, Denise Moore, Mickey Newsome, Andi Queen, Debi, and Rhonda Layne. We would also like to thank all the staff at the Hospice House of Huntington, you are the most wonderful and caring people we’ve ever met in our lives.
