Sam Edward Diamond of Louisa
Sam Edward Diamond, 64, of Louisa, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Community Hospice is Ashland, Ky. after a brief illness. Sam was born January 13, 1947 in Louisa, the son of Virginia Prince Diamond of Louisa and the late Edgar J. Diamond. He was preceded in death by his father and mother in law Edd and Roberta Childress Daniels. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Betty Jane Daniels Diamond; one son Thomas Edward Diamond of Hinton, OK, one brother and sister-in-law Danny and Pearlie Diamond of Louisa and two grandchildren; Dustin and Thomas of OK. He is also survived by his special “Sissy” Marilyn Miller and her husband Danny of Louisa and his three nieces; Sabrina Young and husband Tim of Louisa, Darielle Chapman and husband Tony of Inez and Audreanna Bowen and husband Shawn of Louisa and host of family and friends that will miss him dearly. Sam graduated from Louisa High School in 1964. He was a veteran, having served for four years in the US Air Force as a staff sergeant. He was a member of the national rifle association, Northeastern KY Fish and Game Club, and the UMWA. He began his career as a master electrician at Kentucky Power Company’s Big Sandy Plant and in 2004 retired from Marrowbone Development Company in Naugatuck after 25 years of service as an electronic-control tech and plant electrician. He then worked for Allevard-Sogefi and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Visitation will be Thursday, October 12 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Young Funeral Home in Louisa with the family at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 14 at 2 p.m. at Young Funeral home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Charles Sammons Jr. Burial will follow at Yatesville Memorial Gardens.
