Etta Mae Thompson Porter of Genoa
Etta Mae Thompson Porter, 77, of Genoa, WV went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 20, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Rush Branch Church by Brother Luther Dingess. Burial followed at Thompson Cemetery. She was born December 7, 1934 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late John W. and Delcie Jackson Thompson. Etta Mae was a retired personal care assistant. Her husband, Robert Porter also preceded her in death, along with a daughter, Charlene Porter; two sons, Larry and Robert Lee Porter; six sisters, Osie Knight, Audrey Maggard, Gladys Holt, Magalene Rowe, Lois Crabtree, Marie Parsons; two brothers, Joe Thompson and Rudolph Thompson; two sons-in-laws, Elmer Dee Robinson and Harold Wiley. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Wiley of South Point, OH, Alene Robinson of Genoa, WV; two sons, Gary Porter and wife, Janice of Chesapeake, OH, Johnny Porter of South Point, OH; one brother Roy Thompson; ten grandchildren, Edwin and Norma Robinson of Genoa, WV, Michelle and Mike Wilson of Genoa, WV, Deidra and John Carpenter of Genoa, WV, Aaron and Valyn Robinson of Fort Gay, WV, Marie and David Thompson of Chesapeake, OH, Robert Wiley of Charleston, WV, Harold Wiley of Huntington, WV, Ashley Porter of Chesapeake, OH, Bobby Porter of Chesapeake, OH, Gary Porter of Chesapeake, OH; sixteen great grandchildren, Jacob Berry, Brooklynn Wilson, Bailey Wilson, Kylie Carpenter, Kara Carpenter, Isaac Robinson, Gideon Robinson, Braxton Bragg, Caleb Wiley, Ireland Elizabeth Wiley, Rachel Followay, Jenny Followay, Alexis Wiley, Makayla Thompson and Maddison Thompson. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington and All-Aid Service of Charleston, WV. Friends called after 6 p.m. at the Rush Branch Church on Mill Creek Road, Genoa, WV.
