Virginia Burns Clay of Huntington
Virginia Burns Clay, 80, of Huntington, WV, formerly of East Lynn, WV, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, November 26, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, November 29, 2010 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Brother Emual Adkins. Burial will follow at Watson Cemetery, Branchland, WV. She was born May 24, 1930 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Adam and Edna Sanders Burns. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Wolf Pen Church of Christ where she loved to write praise and worship songs to her Lord. “Aunt Gin” was like a mother to her nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Her husband, Golden Clay also preceded her in death, along with three sisters, Irene Burns, Olive Clay and Mary Belle Clay; two brothers, J.B. Burns and Omer Burns. Survivors include her brothers, Ollie Burns of Ottawa, WV, William Burns of Pecks Mill, WV, Wayne Burns of East Lynn, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 pm Sunday at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, WV.
